Coloring Your World with Braces

Are you ready to make a statement with your braces?

If you have more traditional braces, then your braces are made of either metal or clear ceramic and they are made up of several parts. The main visible part of the braces are the metal or clear ceramic brackets that are bonded to your teeth. There are also removable wires that attach to the braces via elastic “ties” or elastomeric ligatures. These “ties”, also called bands, are what you get to use to personalize your braces.

You get to choose the colors of these bands! Think of it as a modern way to express your style!

We want you to get creative and have fun with this, so we offer many colors to choose from! We usually have turquoise, blue, green orange, yellow, purple, pink, and several others.

Tips for selecting your colors:

You can select one color for all the bands, or select any combination. You can even create your own unique patterns. You can even choose to use one color for top teeth and another one for the bottom teeth.

Here are some ideas to help you select the band colors for your braces:

Your favorite colors
Rainbow colors
Favorite college or pro team colors
School colors
Colors of your favorite flag
Upcoming holiday colors (i.e. black and orange for Halloween)
Seasonal colors (greens for spring, autumn leaf colors for fall)
Color match with your favorite shoes or other accessories
Your color choice of one or multiple colors you like

You get to wear your style for 4-6 weeks, and then you get to change it! At each new orthodontic visit, you get to select a new color choice and pattern.

If you’re concerned about how your teeth look in comparison to the colored bands, then consider this:
• Band colors like white, yellow, or gold may make teeth that aren’t white appear yellowish.
• Darker colors such as dark blue, dark green, or purple may bring out the white in your teeth, making them appear even whiter than they actually are.

Whichever colors or patterns you choose, we want you to enjoy being you and showing your personal style with your braces and your smile.
